The subscapularis is an intrinsic muscle of the shoulder region. It is part of the rotator cuff muscle group.
- Attachments: Originates from the subscapular fossa (anterior surface of the scapula). It attaches to the lesser tubercle of the humerus.
- Actions: Medial rotation of the arm
- Innervation: Upper and lower subscapular nerves.
- Blood supply: Subscapular artery.
